Lawrence PD Blatantly Ignores Emergency Legislation; State Government does nothing

Just ten days, LITERALLY Ten Days after Gov Maura Healey finally listened to our pleas on Massachusetts law enforcement playing footsie with ICE they signed the PROTECT act which put a stop to that nonsense.   Parts of the law don’t take effect until Sept 4, but parts of it definitely do.   So far it is absolute crickets.   Let’s dig into this a little more shall we?

De Facts

August 5 2006 – The governor signs the PROTECT act; Chapter 163 of the Acts of 2026 State Code.

Then on August 15th,  this happened.

The video clearly shows this man’s family screaming in terror and Lawrence PD just sitting there like chuckle fucks and doing jack and shit.   There is absolutely no publicly announced investigation from AG Campbell or Governor Cardboard (Healey) or Lawrence.

***

So they call this an EMERGENCY law that they passed urgently on August 5th.   And yet, they delayed Section 7 for (checks notes) “reasons” so you might just think that the fine officers of the Lawrence PD are just getting their sociopathic rocks off pretending to be big bad federal agents before the deadline; but if you look at the law there’s a lot more to it than that.   So do we know that the Lawrence PD is deliberately trying to dick over and humiliate the state house, showing them to be paper tigers before the September primaries.   We don’t know that Lawrence PD likes to dress up as ICE agents and have relations with their mannequins pretending to be tough.  But we do know that they clearly don’t give a flying fuck about Governor Cardboard’s image.  And we definitely know that they are flagrantly ignoring the future law ten days after it was passed.

_________

Just a quick walk back to yesteryear lane; and remind you why this site exists.

On May 8 2025, last year in the Summer of Blood when ICE showed us that America had a Secret Police for the first time in 249 years; the Worcester Police held and helped an ICE agent to take a Massachusetts tax payer.   Immigration officers stopped a car containing a young woman and her infant.  Community observers showed up and asked questions.   And so ICE called their useful minions (think cartoon Minions hit with the Comic Book Bizarro Ray from Lex Luthor) helped THE ICE AGENTS rather than the tax payer being harassed by the American Gestapo.  Three people were arrested by these thugs; and I realized that this is is a FREE STATE.   We don’t participate in Fugitive Slave Laws, and so I made this site.  It took a while and they became lower key.   But that doesn’t mean I have forgotten this issue.  Indeed, I have another entry on local government and a pro-cop city councilman running and then the city working with the DA to harass the one council member that wanted to hold them to account.

You see this pattern.   Worcester City Council voted by 80% to let the boot licking cosplayers in Worcester PD to help them.    And then in Feb 2026 they announced yet another policy forbidding ICE from picking people up on City or public property and forbidding city resources from being used to enforce it.   But the question isn’t what laws they pass for the headlines; it’s whether this is enforced.   We’ll get back to Worcester soon enough.

And it’s not like the state couldn’t have done something without this law if it wanted to.   There was a court case “Lunn v Commonwealth” that clearly stated that Local PD thugs are not automagically made federal agents (“I’m Agent Fox Mulder F.B. EEEEEYE.”)    Meaning that these chucklefucks had no obligation to be douchebag dirtbag freaks for the fucking secret police.    And yes, the Roberts Supreme Conspiracy has done a lot to make cops untouchable; but it has also empowered the Executive and none of that stops them from firing cops who cross the line.

There’s a lot of open questions that I couldn’t find the answers to.  What is the Thug Cop excuse this time?   Did they arbitrarily arrest protesters or community activists like the Worcester incident?  Why were the fuck cops there at all?  I couldn’t find the answers but I will and others will; but will Governor Cardboard and AG cardboard?

Healey has enacted a policy re sacred places  (churches, hospitals, courthouses schools etc) restricting ICE facilities back in Jan but clearly that wasn’t doing enough so we had to enact the PROTECT act.   But I couldn’t find a single example of this policy she enacted in Jan being enforced.   AG Campbell said on May 29 2025 flat out said that Local PD thugs cannot be “drafted” into Secret Police ICE work but you’ll notice she didn’t say that they couldn’t do it if they wanted to except “it has to comply with state and federal law.”   And yet I have not found a SINGLE INSTANCE of a SINGLE COP getting in trouble for helping ICE for any reason.  So do either of them really mean what they say?  And this isn’t just some rando.  She’s the chief law enforcement officer for the state; they even set up a special reporting hotline for abuse.   And yet; are there any documented incidents of action taken on reports from ICE misconduct or Local murdercop abuse? Not for ICE activities that I could find.

A hotline for reporting abuse only matters if it’s actually used.  We do have a “report” which I am certain has been referred to Top Men (ala Raiders of the Lost Ark) where we can expected on Lemon Soaked Paper Napkins that sternly rebukes the paper boy who delivered to some rural PD any day now.

On July 29, Governor “Cardboard” Healey got serious (queue Darkwing Duck clip “Let’s. Get. Dangerous.) where she was “sickenededed” by this and said “TrUmP aDmIn BadD” and used many words among the which might have included “unbeweivamble” “ungoodly unconstitionamal” and “un-good batman” and said people are afraid to send their kiddies to school (“please please please vote for me, I care, I weally weally dew.”)  So she is definitely expressing Susan Collins Defcon Beige concern and so in Emergency Speed we got Emergency Protect Act.

And then Lawrence PD walked down the state house, took a live dump on live television on her lunch and proverbly asked, “What are you gonna do about it?”  Shocked Pikachu face from Governor Cardboard has not stopped yet after the writing of this article.  And I wanna prove my point with relish:

The Protect ACT is, like most laws a “Swiss Army Knife.”  Just because SECTION SEVEN is delayed until Sept 5th doesnt mean all of it is.  The parts that are IMMEDIATE include

“-Using state or local resources for federal civil immigration enforcement;

-Conducting or participating in federal civil immigration enforcement;

-stopping, arresting, searching, seizing or detaining someone based on actual or perceived immigration status;

-Questioning people for purposes of federal civil immigration enforcement;

-Holding people beyond their otherwise lawful release solely because of an immigration detainer;

-Transporting people into immigration custody except under specified legal authority;

-Supplying specified nonpublic information to immigration authorities outside defined circumstances.

Regular “policing” is still protected.

“-criminal investigations;

-criminal enforcement;

– de-escalation;

-maintaining peace in public spaces.”

It’s almost like they had Lawrence specifically in mind when they made the thing.   So now the tax payers of this state need to fucking know what the fuck is going on here.   Why was Lawrence PD there? Did they violate the letter of the law (because they DEFINITELY disobeyed the spirit merely by being there and saying nothing to the ICE gestapo).    Is AG Campbell going to investigate and enforce the parts of the law that are in place or will be have a nice Collins level Lemon Soaked Paper Napkins tea party?

Section 2 of the Protect Act, in particular is relevant here.   What was the cause of the stop?   People harassed by cops under this can sue and get litigation costs and attorney fees recovered and I see a Go Fund me for the people harassed in the future here.   If every time murdercops helped ICE and got filmed doing it got investigated by the state and crowd sourced sued by an outraged populace I think the good little wind up toys in Lawrence or Worcester might think twice.

Lawrence also has its own fucking law; passed in 2015 to specifically forbid this kind of thing.  Like my Salem, Lawrence wants to pass itself off as an immigrant friendly town and it passed this thing overwhelmingly (2-7) but when I looked for examples of it actually being enforced in 11 years I came up ZIP.   A law that is unenforced is not a law; it’s a mockery of the law.  And the kinds of things Lawrence PD has been up to that justified the creation of the Protect Act, makes us question how serious Lawrence is about its own laws.

Who watches the Watchmen?  Certainly not some naked blue man with magical powers.  The city can’t say there is a boundary between local murdercop policework and Secret ICE gestapo if it passes a law and does nothing about it.  But wait! There’s more.  It gets worse.   The chief of “police” Maurice Aguiler is not someone who is some unqualified Hegseth.  The ENTIRE city council rubber stamped his ascension in May 2025.     He’s got a ton of experience including rising through the ranks to Patrol, Detective, Lt, Captain etc.    He is a gulf war veteran (and so saw first hand what Saddam Hussain’s secret police could do to people including torture and hatnot).   He also has a BA in criminal justice.     He also has a law degree AND passed the bar.   This guy knows the law.  He’s a definite knowledgeable professional.

And yet. When he was confirmed, he was specifically handle misconduct.   The good captain said “I’d do my job” and enforce this etc.  Like, he went out of his way to talk about the importance of community policing, improved communication etc, as well as a chain of command.

And yet.   Where is that chain of command regarding ICE?  And this isn’t some new thing.  WBUR investigated (carefully) the pattern and found that there have been 210 arrests with the help of THIRTY FUCKING TWO local Mass PD offices.   And Lawrenece and Boston were specifically called out as glaring problems.  Indeed, ICE’s own data later shows how many of these arrests are occurring in Lawrence that caused WBUR to scooby doo this shit in the first place.   The good Keystone Lawrence PD insists it is being gud.    In Sept of last year, they said they were not involve in an arrest “in any way” I could not find a statement that said “Trust me, Bro” but it might as well have.

To quote Gandalf, I have questions; questions that need answering.  And I won’t be the only one asking them.   Be assured that even though the state house isn’t doing anything, the media will be.   It’s a shame that neither Governor Cardboard or AG Campbell have primaries or we could let them know of our feelings on the matter.   Maybe someone should do something about that next time.  Let’s not forget a similar incident of Governor Andy Beshear saying that he would call a special election if McConnell didn’t give proof of life.  Crickets.   Now the man’s political career at the national level is effectively over.   Can we say the same for the two doing nothing about ICE?  I’d like to think so.   But then again people like this keep getting elected in this state.

Let’s see what happens; but as for me and mine; I’m not holding my breath.
